1950 Videotec’s new Maximus MPXHD full HD explosion-proof pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera is designed for video surveillance and process control in harsh settings and hazardous areas with potentially explosive environments, says the company.

Certified to for use in Zone 1 and 2, Group IIC T6 (Gas), and in Zone 21 and 22, Group IIIC T85°C (Dust), the 1080p, 60fps camera incorporates a 30x optical zoom and broadcast images via Ethernet with H.264/AVC and MJPEG compression.

The unit has a built-in wiper and can provide up to four simultaneously video streams (to a total of 20Mbps) while a day/night feature provides high sensitivity in low light environments.

Its AISI 316L stainless steel casing with IP66 protection enables operation in temperatures from -40°C to +60°C and the optional WASEX washer kit with explosion-proof pump minimises the need for maintenance.
