Videotec launches full HD explosion-proof camera

Videotec’s new Maximus MPXHD full HD explosion-proof pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera is designed for video surveillance and process control in harsh settings and hazardous areas with potentially explosive environments, says the company.

1950 Videotec’s new Maximus MPXHD full HD explosion-proof pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera is designed for video surveillance and process control in harsh settings and hazardous areas with potentially explosive environments, says the company.

Certified to for use in Zone 1 and 2, Group IIC T6 (Gas), and in Zone 21 and 22, Group IIIC T85°C (Dust), the 1080p, 60fps camera incorporates a 30x optical zoom and broadcast images via Ethernet with H.264/AVC and MJPEG compression.

The unit has a built-in wiper and can provide up to four simultaneously video streams (to a total of 20Mbps) while a day/night feature provides high sensitivity in low light environments.

Its AISI 316L stainless steel casing with IP66 protection enables operation in temperatures from -40°C to +60°C and the optional WASEX washer kit with explosion-proof pump minimises the need for maintenance.
