Premier Electronics' Cygnet sCMOS camera
2252 Premier Electronics’ Cygnet 17mm (2/3-inch) sCMOS camera provides full HD up to 60Hz. The use of Scientific CMOS (sCMOS) technology allows it to simultaneously deliver extremely low noise, fast frame rates, wide dynamic range, high quantum efficiency, high resolution and a large field of view.

The 2.1MP Scientific CMOS sensor is said to provide ultra sharp image resolution with a quantum efficiency of over 63% in the visible spectrum (at 500nm) and greater than 34% with inferred (at 850nm) and is available in both monochrome and colour versions. Utilising a 12-bit camera-link interface the Cygnet will provide full HD resolution up to 60Hz making it suitable for short exposures and fast events and has a power requirement of less than 1.7W and weight of only 120g.

Rod Barman, founder and president at Lucid, says: “The 5GBase-T Atlas camera hits the sweet spot of faster frame rates, small size and excellent price-performance.” According to Lucid, the 5GBase-T Ethernet interface offers similar bandwidth as CameraLink, allowing the use of standard CAT5e and CAT6 cables up to 100 metres. Atlas supports large format APS-
  • Bartco launches temporary VMS for work zones
    February 8, 2016
UK manufacturer of temporary, solar powered variable message signs (VMS), Bartco UK, will unveil what it claims is the first temporary VMS designed for use within work zones. The HD Quattro was developed in response to feedback from customers requiring a product to affirm on-site speed limits for work zone vehicles. Designed to show limited amounts of information, such as speed roundels, at just 600mm x 600mm, the free-standing, 12v battery-powered device is the smallest VMS in Bartco’s portfolio.
