EMX multi-volt vehicle loop detector

According to 7630 EMX Industries, its new Ultraloop multi-voltage vehicle detector is a compact, energy efficient and cost-effective loop detector that is easy to install and set up.

The ULT-MVP’s exclusive Detect-on-Stop (DOS) technology activates only when the vehicle comes to a complete stop on the loop, making it ideal in cross-traffic situations and warehouse settings with many overhead doors. Sensitivity selection is simplified by the Ultrameter display that indicates the appropriate sensitivity setting to detect the vehicle positioned on the loop. The ten sensitivity settings allow for finer adjustment of the detection level, while the four frequency settings provide greater flexibility in preventing crosstalk in multi-loop applications.  An 11-pin plug-in base, multiple settings for sensitivity, frequency, pulse on entry, pulse on exit, presence and the DOS feature make this new loop detector a universal fit for any installation.

The addition of Detect on Stop (DOS) technology to EMX’s Ultraloop range of vehicle detectors, means the system only triggers when a vehicle stops for at least one second over the loop. It ignores cross-traffic and vehicles that keep moving, enabling parking exit gates to stay closed.

EMX Ultraloop detects moving and stopped vehicles
American company EMX Industries, a specialist in detectors based on inductive, magnetic, ultrasound, microwave and infrared technologies, is participating at Intertraffic Amsterdam 2014 to introduce Ultraloop, an exclusive inductive a loop detector that is capable of differentiating between moving vehicles and vehicles that come to a complete stop on the inductive loop. The company points out that this function is useful in preventing false detection by cross traffic. Also being featured is the USVD-4X v

Additional functionality gives loops a continued lease of life
Two decades after the death of the inductive loops was predicted, Matt Zinn, technical services manager at Eberle Design says the technology still offers advantages. More than 20 years ago the emergence of video detection systems led many to foretell the end of inductive loops. In the intervening years advocates of radar, infrared and wireless detection technologies have also claimed that loops were on their way out. But in fact, by all calculations, the use of loops has actually increased and although
