Designed to cope with difficult terrain and weather conditions, 7324 Vital Technology’s Xtend is a mobile rapid deployment CCTV and onboard video analytics tower system which provides surveillance and intelligent scene analysis at locations that are vulnerable to theft, trespass and vandalism. The ruggedised solution incorporates a hydraulic mast and a 360-degree rotation tower housed in a trailer base unit with an environmentally-friendly 3000 rpm generator.

Xtend is flexible according to user requirements; a common configuration is a four pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera assembly which can include cameras for ultra low-light conditions. Thermal imaging cameras or a combination of thermal imaging and white light units identifies heat signatures. Optical performance can be up to 36x zoom. Xtend’s video analytics discriminates between people, animals and vehicles using algorithms with filters on direction, pattern of movement and speed. Processing only meaningful data optimises use of bandwidth and storage space.

A range of wireless solutions includes 3G or satellite standards. Effective use of radio frequency communications can produce a 1 kilometre line of sight, enabling Xtend to be deployed in remote locations.

Vital brings Xtend to the market with SMC, part of onsite power equipment company ArcGen Hilta. The portability of the optical and video analytics capability of Xtend is based on SMC’s Eco90 lighting tower and trailer assembly.
