Tattile's Vega range can now be integrated with Milestone's video management suite

The Tattile XProtect Integration Plugin allows Tattile Vega cameras – used for multiple traffic monitoring and other ITS functions – to be incorporated into Milestone XProtect Smart Client.

The manufacturer says this enables any number of operators’ Vega cameras to automatically communicate with Milestone, which has certified the product.

Tattile insists that users can receive and collect all events from its cameras, while also managing previously uploaded number plate lists, for example from violators.

The new system also allows options on events and diagnostics to be filtered and can be used in conjunction with the Tattile Rigel real-time traffic analyser to manage alarms and notifications triggered by various traffic events.

As well as automatic number plate recognition functions, filters can be set in the VMS on analysing Tattile camera events by date and time, vehicle class, brand, colour and model, as well as plate region, country and plate colour.

Data generated is available in the Milestone VMS “for any possible post-process analysis of the images”, Tattile says. “Video sequences can be reviewed and all recordings are stored.”

When considering the ideal sensing and monitoring system to enable the ITS sector to deliver improvements in mobility and road safety, for general policing security and border protection, we have to think beyond radar-base systems or laser scanners. What is needed today are solutions for detecting and tracking vehicles while recording evidence to deacide if any action is necessary. There is no sole sensor capable of

If traffic management centres (TMCs) around the world are to cope with the increasing demands of growing traffic flows while maintaining or improving transport safety and efficiency, then video monitoring will have to be supplemented by automated warnings of incidents or deviations. According to Patrik Anderson, business development director at Swedish camera manufacturer Axis Communications, it is no
