Megapixel telezoom from Fujinon

Fujinon has introduced a new two-megapixel telezoom lens. The HC16x100R2CE-F11 features optical and mechanical quality similar to Fujinon HD broadcast lenses. It is designed for light-sensitive cameras with sensor sizes up to 1in. The focal length of 100-1,600mm can be doubled by a built-in x2 extender to a maximum focal length of 3,200mm. Despite the long focal length, the HC16x100 features a fast Fstop of 3.4, and the lens is equipped with Fujinon's 'Day&Night technology' which allows the use of IR illumi

Sony’s Stephane Clauss looks at the imaging requirements in tunnels. In the event of a fire inside a tunnel, the dispersion of gases and heat is prevented, creating extreme temperatures that have led to many deaths. Following tragic incidents including Mont Blanc, European legislation requires longer tunnels to be fitted with incident and smoke detection systems.

Introducing Hitachi’s HD optical zoom camera
Hitachi’s DI-SC120R camera includes a new feature, defog, that the camera processes in real time. Images are resolved for highly magnified stable images in foggy conditions such as urban surveillance, traffic monitoring and pole mounted applications. The camera measures each pixel for fog thickness and applies contrast to the image to offer a uniform image. The camera’s one-third inch CCD sensor provides a full resolution of 1280x720. Hitachi has combined its proprietary Digital Signal Processor (DSP) to a
