A collaboration between video and graphics systems provider Matrox Graphics and expansion products developer Magma now enables systems integrators to rapidly create high-density encoding and decoding mobile command centres.

Magma’s Thunderbolt and PCIe expansion systems have been tested for reliability and functionality with Matrox’s PCIe-based video wall and AV-over-IP products. The collaboration facilitates rapid deployment of high-density encoding and decoding mobile command centres for OEMs and system integrators, enabling them to provide high-density video wall and AV-over-IP solutions.

Matrox video wall solutions include 4K capture and IP encoder and decoder cards, video wall controller cards and multi-display graphics cards.

Q-Free’s Marco Sinnema looks at how the commoditisation of high-quality vision-based solutions is widening their application. Machine vision technology’s entry into the ITS/traffic management sector has followed a classic top-down path. This is unsurprising given the extremely demanding performance criteria which are the standard in its market of origin, manufacturing processing. Very high image qualities combined with frame rates often in the hundreds per second range resulted in vision systems with capabi

A UK organisation has identified 500 ‘milestones’ to be passed in order to get connected and autonomous vehicles (C/AVs) on the road in numbers by 2030. Zenzic, which was set up by government and industry to coordinate a national platform for testing and developing C/AVs, has launched the UK Connected and Automated Mobility Roadmap to 2030. It identifies six ‘golden threads’ which highlight areas dependent on cross-industry collaboration to make self-driving services accessible to the public by the end of

Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are evolving at a rapid pace – but drivers’ ability to cope with them is not and at some point the mismatch must be addressed. Probably the biggest challenge the transportation industry has ever faced.” That is how Dr Bryan Reimer of Massachusetts Institute of Technology AgeLab describes the challenges posed by semi-autonomous vehicles.
