Latest Sony sensors for Matrix Vision cameras

Matrix Vision is to incorporate Sony’s forthcoming global shutter CMOS sensors, the 1/1.8-inch IMX250 and 2/3-inch IMX252, into its mvBlueCOUGAR-XD Dual-GigE and mvBlueFOX3-2 USB3 Vision camera ranges. Initially the 3.2 megapixel IMX252 will be available as the mvBlueCOUGAR-XD104h and mvBlueFOX3-2032, with the 5.1 megapixel IMX250 (mvBlueCOUGAR-XD105a and) mvBlueFOX3-2051 models available early next year.

7792 Matrix Vision is to incorporate 576 Sony’s forthcoming global shutter CMOS sensors, the 1/1.8-inch IMX250 and 2/3-inch IMX252, into its mvBlueCOUGAR-XD Dual-GigE and mvBlueFOX3-2 USB3 Vision camera ranges.

The pixel size in both sensors has been reduced to 3.45 µm and when used in conjunction with C-mount lenses, the increased pixel density provides higher resolution images when compared with the IMX174 and IMX249 sensors. Decreased image noise keeps the dynamic range at levels above 71dB for improved image quality, higher resolution and an increased image refresh rate.

A lower frame rate version, promised by SONY, will follow in the mvBlueCOUGAR-X and mvBlueFOX3-2 models.
