The latest industrial USB 3 uEye CP camera from 7178 IDS Image Development Systems is now available with On Semiconductor’s Python 500, 2000 and 5000 CMOS sensors, which are suitable for use in machine vision, intelligent transportation applications, inspection, security and surveillance.

The Python 500 sensor is used in the UI-3130CP and provides more than 560 fps in full resolution (0.5 MP, 800 x 600 pixels) for slow motion or high speed tracking applications.

Providing a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, the 2.3 MP UI-3160CP with the Python 2000 sensor is designed for use with Full HD (>180 fps), while the UI-3180CP camera with the Python 5000 sensor is a high resolution camera with global shutter, providing 5.3 MP (2592 x 2048 pixels, 68 fps).

There are interesting moves afoot to create Germany’s first Weigh-In-Motion enforcement site in Hamburg – but Florian Weiss of Traffic Data Systems warns that WIM certification is a complex business. In the past, Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) was mainly used for statistical (WIM-S) and pre-selection (WIM-P) applications. These abbreviations - as well as WIM-E (enforcement) and WIM-T (tolling) - were created by Traffic Data Systems during Intertraffic 2006 in Amsterdam. This was also the year when we started the
