The Dinion Infrared Imager from 517 Bosch Security Systems is a rugged camera designed for perimeter surveillance and other outdoor applications. With 2XDynamic Technology and variable field illumination, 311 Bosch claims the device consistently delivers highquality video even in harshly lit or completely dark environments.

Available in analogue and IP models, Dinion Infrared Imagers deliver up to 160m of detectionlevel performance in low or no light. The 2X-Dynamic Technology in the Dinion cameras provides 20-bit processing, twice the power of conventional cameras, and wide dynamic range sensors for unparalleled image quality in all lighting conditions.

Bosch claims the cameras deliver excellent colour reproduction and analyse unevenly lit scenes pixel by pixel to produce the most detailed images, day and night.

Infrared illumination compensation assures effective round-the-clock surveillance.

Eneo has added an integrated junction box into the mounting brackets of three of its Candid Bullet cameras. The solution aims to help reduce installation costs by simplifying and speeding up the fitting process. These models are said to offer high-performance and provide high-quality video images, even in low- light conditions. The available range includes the small Candid, 2MP IP bullet (ICB-62M2712M0A); the medium-sized, 3MP IP bullet, with WiFi set-up interface (ICB-73M2712MWA); and the medium sized
  • Healthy prospects for floating vehicle data systems

Elmar Brockfeld, Alexander Sohr and Peter Wagner from the German Aerospace Center's Institute of Transport Systems look at the prospects for floating vehicle data systems. Although Floating Vehicle Data (FVD) or probe vehicle fleets have been around for about a decade, the idea behind them is of course much older: from probe vehicles that flow with the traffic it should be possible to get a precise, fast and spatially near-complete picture of the prevailing traffic flow conditions in an area under surveilla
