Allied Vision expands Prosilica GT large format camera range

Allied Vision has extended its Prosilica GT Large Format camera platform with three new models which incorporate the 12K, 16K and 25K version of ON Semiconductors’ Python sensors with in-pixel Correlated Double Sampling (IP-CDS) global shutter technology. The Prosilica GT5120 uses ON Semi’s Python 26.2 Megapixel, 32.6mm diagonal 25K sensor while the Prosilica GT4096 has the 16.7 Megapixels version (Python 16K) and the Prosilica GT4090 uses the 12.5 Megapixels Python 12K. Allied Vision has extended its 2255 Prosilica GT Large Format camera platform with three new models which incorporate the 12K, 16K and 25K version of ON Semiconductors’ Python sensors with in-pixel Correlated Double Sampling (IP-CDS) global shutter technology.

Contained in a thermal housing to cope with an extended temperature range and capable of coping with fluctuating lighting conditions, the new cameras are said to be suitable for high-definition imaging applications (including ITS) with demanding requirements of robustness and flexibility.

    December 3, 2018
Glare from the sun is a factor in a large number of road accidents – many of them fatal. But there is a solution at hand: using polarisation can mitigate the effect of glare and improve ITS camera enforcement, explains Stephane Clauss The effect of glare on driver safety has been well documented. A 2013 UK study by the country’s largest driver organisation, the AA, calculated sun glare was a contributing cause in almost 3,000 road accidents in 2012 alone. This represented one in 33 accidents on Britain’s
