All in one electro-focus lens control solution for Prosilica GT

Allied Vision has extended its Prosilica GT large format camera range with a new electro-focus (EF) lens control which is said to provide a ruggedised all-in-one lens control solution. 518 Allied Vision Technologies has extended its Prosilica GT large format camera range with a new electro-focus (EF) lens control which is said to provide a ruggedised all-in-one lens control solution. The new mount simplifies lens control via GenICam feature access (negating the need for serial commands) and enabling the camera  to automatically focus sequentially on subjects in different distances.

Power to control EF-mount lenses can be provided via PoE (Power over Ethernet) and an improved mechanical design enables planarity adjustment towards the sensor.

A new report released by the Pew Center on Global Climate Change examines cost-effective solutions to begin to cut US transportation emissions and oil use now and move toward cleaner, alternative fuels. From burning oil, transportation accounts for more than one-fourth of all US GHG emissions. The report, Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions from US Transportation, identifies reasonable actions across three fronts – technology, policy, and consumer behaviour – that could deliver up to a 65 per cent reduction i

Jo Versavel, Managing Director of Traficon, talks about near-term trends in video camera systems. Jo Versavel starts by making one thing clear: long-term forecasts as to what the future holds for video-based traffic monitoring are to all intents and purposes meaningless. The state of the art is developing so fast that in reality it's impossible to say where we'll be in 10 years' time, says the Managing Director of Traficon. In his opinion making firm predictions even five years out is too ambitious, whereas
