Vector-Z is the latest addition to 604 Vysionics’ Vector ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) family of cameras.  Based on the same reliable hardware platform, Vector-Z brings the option of even higher resolution, along with motorised zoom and focus.

The new Vector-Z builds on the success of the Vector, introducing higher resolution sensors on both the scene overview and ANPR cameras, combined with motorised zoom and focus, which Vysionics says makes Vector-Z even easier to configure and use, particularly in applications where flexibility is needed around the working distance or field of view.

Combined with world class number plate reading libraries for virtually every international format, Vector-Z provides a fully integrated camera device that is ideal as a stand-alone ANPR camera, or as part of a larger integrated traffic monitoring solution.

Vysionics has also introduced Vector-IR, a synchronised infra-red (IR) flood light that allows the overview camera to capture a clear image of the vehicle on a completely dark road, without washing out the number plate read from either the ANPR or the overview image.

HOTA approval for Vysionics’ level crossing red light enforcement
Vysionics has been working with the UK’s Network Rail on a development project to reduce the number of fatalities that occur on the rail network. This included the development of a new Home Office Type Approved (HOTA) device that allows for automatic, unattended enforcement of vehicles that misuse level crossings. Vysionics’ Vector LX level crossing red light enforcement system has been awarded HOTA certification and is now operational at sites across the UK; the first ever non-invasive solution to ac

Machine vision takes ITS further than the eye can see
Vitronic’s John Yalda looks at how machine vision has become an integral part of many ITS deployments and why it complements, rather than replaces, ANPR. New and conventional business concepts like online shopping and mail order business are becoming more established in the cultures of fast-growing economies and increasing the demand for flexibility in the freight transportation and logistics industry. Road transport has become the preferred infrastructure for freight forwarding and several studies predict

Jenoptik spot speed camera achieves UK gov approval
Jenoptik Traffic Solutions UK has announced its Vector SR camera has achieved UK Home Office Type Approval to operate as an unattended enforcement device for measurement of vehicle speeds. Jenoptik says the Vector SR camera was developed to measure ‘spot speeds’ over a short section of road, such as those which are prone to collisions. The solution uses the Vector2 integrated automatic number plate recognition camera platform, working alongside Jenoptik’s 3D tracking radar device, and can be mounted o
