Due to run in November, Vision 2020 "cannot be held this year", says organiser Messe Stuttgart.

The date of the next Vision will be announced "in the near future".

Messe Stuttgart says it has held "intensive talks" with putative exhibitors at the international machine vision event.

"In the discussions held it became apparent that Vision cannot be held this year with the usual quality, particularly due to the high international character of the event combined with the continuing travel restrictions," says Florian Niethammer, Vision project manager.

The decision was taken "in solidarity with our exhibitors who have withdrawn from the trade fair and our promotional supporter, VDMA Industrial Machine Vision".

Messe Stuttgart is sending out a survey to help it establish the next steps.

"It is important for us to find out more about the impacts of the cancellation of Vision on exhibitors and visitors and their business, therefore we are gathering specific feedback and call on everyone to actively contribute," Niethammer concludes
