Navtech Radar launches tunnel safety solution

Navtech Radar has launched a sensor to complement its ClearWay solution and provide automatic incident detection (AID) coverage in highways and tunnels for 175m in both directions. Phil Avery, the company’s managing director, claims that the solution is ideal for applications where line-of-sight is limited. Called CTS175, the solution features Clearview’s AID solution and can be used for traffic applications, including roads, tunnels and bridges.

Navtech radar airport surveillance flying ahead
Navtech Radar’s AdvanceGuard radar based perimeter intrusion detection system (PIDS) for airports is ideally suited to the challenge of the wide perimeters of most commercial airports. Its frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) 76GHz technology and the robust design of the radars, coupled with the ability to operate 24 /7 in all light and weather conditions, even in dense fog, make AdvanceGuard the preferred technology for the challenges faced by airport operations and security services. New opportunities in a data-rich future
Jason Barnes looks at where the detection and monitoring sector is heading. In the future, there will be no such thing as an un-instrumented road. Just a short time ago, that could have been a quote from a high-level policy document but with the first arrivals of vehicles with 802.11p connectivity – the door-opener to Vehicle-to-X (V2X) applications – it’s a statement which has increasing validity. The technology which uses our roads will also provide information on road conditions but V2X isn’t the only
