Kowa exhibits 12MP lens series at Vision 2018

Kowa is showcasing its lens series for 12MP cameras with a 1.1" chip size and a pixel size of 3.45µm at Vision 2018 this week in Stuttgart, Germany. The new FC series is optimized to fit the micro lenses of the new Sony sensors IMX253 and IMX304, so that unwanted shading on the sensor is prevented. Kowa’s lenses are also wide-band coated which effectively decreases glare and reflection and produces a high transmission from the visible to the NIR wavelength.

7913 Kowa is showcasing its lens series for 12MP cameras with a 1.1" chip size and a pixel size of 3.45µm at Vision 2018 this week in Stuttgart, Germany.

The new FC series is optimized to fit the micro lenses of the new 576 Sony sensors IMX253 and IMX304, so that unwanted shading on the sensor is prevented.

Kowa’s lenses are also wide-band coated which effectively decreases glare and reflection and produces a high transmission from the visible to the NIR wavelength.

The focal lengths 8.5mm, 16mm, 25mm and 35mm are already on sale. The focal lengths 6.5mm, 12mm and 50mm will follow in January 2019.

Kowa’s C-mount lens series is compact, robust and temperature resistant.

Advances in vision technology are enhancing traffic surveillance and enforcement applications. Variable lighting conditions have long been a stumbling block for vision technology applications in the transport sector. With applications such as ANPR, the read-rate may vary between daylight and night and can be adversely affected by glare and low sun. Madrid, Spain-based Lector Vision had these considerations in mind when designing its Traffic Eye ANPR system, which combines off-the-shelf and custom hardware

Theia Technologies says its range of 4K and megapixel NIR corrected lenses for ITS can be used in applications ranging from long-distance traffic surveillance and ANPR/LPR, to ultra-wide views without distortion. At the Vision 2018 show in Stuttgart, the company showed off for the first time its ML610M 6-10mm varifocal lens with 4k resolution, NIR correction for a 2/3” sensor covering the focal range of three prime lenses with up to 87 degrees horizontal field of view.
