Dynniq and Ultimate Visual Solutions (UVS) say they have gained the first control room contract win of their new partnership - the unnamed client is an English local authority.

The firms got together to offer a turnkey solution incorporating a UVS video wall solution with Dynniq’s urban traffic management control system, ImCity.

The cloud-based platform has been designed to enable different roadside assets, such as CCTV, to be combined into a single graphical user interface.

ImCity will be displayed using a UVS Lucidity video wall system in which a controller is configured to decode and display over 110 HD resolution IP streams collected from traffic cameras and multiple HDMI encoded data sources.

The firms say this enables local authorities "to effectively control various roadside assets from one integrated free-standing LCD video wall display, ensuring enhanced road safety and improved traffic flow without the need for significant infrastructure changes".

The control of the video wall layouts is provided within ImCity via a desk mounted touch screen controller.

“The project was won after an extremely intensive tender process during the heart of the Covid pandemic, when Dynniq and UVS combined to provide a comprehensive tender response," explains UVS MD Steve Murphy.

The companies provided remote, online live demonstrations of the integrated solution.

The continued expansion of IP camera networks increases the availability of useful information. At the same time, the opportunity exists to increase inter-agency collaboration. This makes information management all the more necessary in the control room environment. But the transportation sector could do a lot to help itself by gaining a better idea up front of what and how it wants to do things, says Electrosonic's Karl Johnson.
