Alex Torday has replaced Alex Gerodimos as CEO of Aimsun.

Gerodimos, who spent 15 years at the company but was in the top job for less than two years, has left to become chief growth officer with autonomous vehicle platform Simulytic.

Simulytic is owned by Siemens, whose mobility arm plans to sell Aimsun owner Yunex Traffic this year.

Torday has been with Aimsun since 2005. Before his new appointment, he led Aimsun strategic operations, and prior to that, he was head of global professional services for 15 years, launching and developing Aimsun business activities across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region.

Yunex CEO Markus Schlitt praised Torday’s "deep knowledge of Aimsun solutions and services along with his blend of technical and commercial expertise".

He is a "unique match for the role", Schlitt added.

Gerodimos points out that since Simulytic is a Siemens venture and "significant Aimsun customer... I will continue to work closely with Aimsun’s professional services and product management teams".

"It is my hope that this move will serve to strengthen the partnership between the organisations and our collective presence in the autonomous vehicle space.”
