Innoviz360: market disruptor

Innoviz Technologies has launched its new Lidar, Innoviz360 at CES in Las Vegas.

In ITS International last year, Innoviz predicted it will disrupt the market for traditional standard resolution spinning Lidars, and cut costs significantly.

The lightweight sensor features up to 1280 scanning lines per frame, configurable frame rate, 0.05°x 0.05° resolution, and 300m of range.

The design takes hardware advances from InnovizTwo, the firm says, including a single laser, detector and ASIC, and will benefit from the economic of scale of InnovizTwo.

It will help OEMs looking to achieve Level 4-5 automation in applications such as robotaxis, shuttles, trucks, and delivery vehicles, Innoviz insists.

Omer Keilaf, co-founder and CEO, said the product "adds another dimension to the company's growth by enabling Innoviz to become a one-stop shop for all types of Lidar solutions".

Mark Fitzgerald, director, Autonomous Vehicle Service at Strategy Analytics – Powered by TechInsights, comments: "There is a market need for better-performing, lower-cost spinning Lidar sensors, and the early specs for Innoviz360 are strong compared to other similar offerings."

Innoviz Technologies is highlighting its latest LiDAR system this week at the ITS America Conference & Expo. The InnovizTwo Raven is a high-performance Lidar sensing system with 3D performance for smart applications. According to the company, the system is lightweight, low-power, and resilient to sunlight and weather conditions. The sensor delivers a dense, highly accurate 3D point cloud with angular resolution up to 250m. The system includes the Innoviz Media Converter which connects the Lidar to a Gigabit Ethernet network.
