Parking.Brussels (P.B) has launched a new app to help guide motorists to car parks by integrating data into existing route planning applications such as Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze. Users in the region can also utilise a custom parking option for requirements such as charging stations for electric vehicles, bicycle parking or proximity to public transport. The application contains over 24,000 parking spaces, spread over 58 parking lots and can indicate whether certain car parks are free or full. Users
The new SmartWay app from the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) p will help drivers navigate Tennessee highways, providing up-to-the-minute customised traffic information. The home screen for the TDOT SmartWay App is a map, which will locate the user’s current position. Users will see icons on the left hand side of the map for traffic speeds, incidents, cameras, road construction, road conditions, and dynamic message signs. Map views can be customised by simply clicking on those icons.
Motorists drive to a location to do something, not to park. Minimising the effort required to park is the aim of a new system that integrates EasyPark’s new in-car parking payment app with the forthcoming Volvo Sensus Connect in-car information and navigation system.
When a motorist parks up, at a location suggested by Sensus Connect close to the driver’s stated destination, they receive a message on the dashboard display asking if they wish to start a parking transaction.
