Automaker Audi has launched its vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) technology in Las Vegas, US, with Traffic Light Information, an Audi connect Prime feature, which is available on select 2017 Audi A4, Q7 and Allroad models. The technology enables the car to communicate with the infrastructure in select cities and metropolitan areas across the US by receiving real-time signal information from the advanced traffic management system that monitors traffic lights via the on-board 4G LTE data connection.

Technology company Baron Weather says its solution can help US Department of Transportation (DoT) services monitor current and forecasted weather conditions. Called Baron Threat Net, the platform also features patented road weather and pavement conditions forecasts.
The device comes with a network operations display, mobile app and custom location alerting. In addition, it is intended to integrate a state’s road weather sensor (RWIS) data into a single display.

Tolling specialist Q-Free will integrate a traffic signal module into the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDoT’s) advanced traffic management system (ATMS) Open TMS. Q-Free says the upgrade will allow the PennDoT to add 10,000 intersections to its system to help manage the traffic network in real time.
Under the agreement, the traffic module will allow Q-Free subsidiary Intelight to integrate its Maxview ATMS with PennDoT’s system.
