TomTom and ParkWhiz offer parking solutions in US and Canada

Public utility company Parking Servis in Belgrade, Serbia, has introduced a wireless parking solution to enable motorists to quickly find vacant parking spots, utilising Nedap’s Sensit system, in an effort to combat congestion caused by a growing number of vehicles and a limited number of parking spaces.
Over 3,500 parking spaces within time-restricted parking zones will be equipped with Sensit wireless bay-mounted sensors that detect vehicle occupancy status and the parking duration of individual parkin
The UK Highways Agency has reached agreement with TomTom to feed up-to-date traffic information from England’s motorways and major A roads into its sat nav services for road users. The agency, which manages the 7,000km strategic road network, collects data on traffic flows from road sensors, backed up by CCTV and other sources. This data, which is already provided to drivers through the Agency’s own channels, will be fed to TomTom for its High Definition Traffic Services.
A smart parking solution which directs city drivers to the likeliest available spaces based on historical and real-time traffic flow data has won the overall prize at the Intertraffic 2018 Innovation Awards.
The On-Street Parking Information (OSPI) feature in BMW cars, coupled with an in-dash payments system from ParkNow, guides drivers to the area in which they should have the best chance of parking and then allows them to pay for it.
