Mexican city opts for solar powered parking payment

The city of San Pedro Cholula in Mexico has installed new Metric Elite LS parking across the city, the first time drivers have been charged for on-street parking, with the scheme part of the municipality’s urban mobility strategy. The paid parking zones will mainly be in commercial and tourist areas of the city. The solar powered parking machines are coin-only and include a 40-way key pad to capture vehicle registration plate details.

The city of San Pedro Cholula in Mexico has installed new Metric Elite LS parking across the city, the first time drivers have been charged for on-street parking, with the scheme part of the municipality’s urban mobility strategy.     Nottingham orders 200 Metric Aura Elite parking meters
    Nottingham City Council in the UK has placed an order for 200 Aura Elite pay and display parking meters manufactured by the Metric Group to replace their existing on and off street equipment. Metric, the UK’s only pay and display parking machine manufacturer, says it won the order against strong European competition. The first phase of a delivery programme for installation of the 195 solar and five mains Elite’s for on and off street parking in Nottingham will start before the end of the year.

    First Elites for New Zealand
    Elite pay and display parking machines manufactured by Metric Group in the UK have been shipped for the first time to New Zealand. The Aura Elites were ordered by Metric Parking’s distributor Automated Solutions who have implemented a marketing strategy for New Zealand. Metric has also received an order from its Australian distributor TMA for a total of 26 machines, 11 of which are for a hospital. The remainder have been ordered by TMA for stock.
