A booming global population puts pressure on cities facing the inevitable question of how to manage personal travel within geographic and infrastructure constraints. Cubic enables greater integration across all modes of travel by leveraging data to generate predictive, personalised and actionable information for the traveller, as well as planning and response analytics for agencies and operators.

Smart Cities Council founding chairman Jesse Berst said, “With more than 40 years of experience in transportation, Cubic has the expertise, innovation and imagination to provide the tools cities need to improve travel, a core engine of smart cities. Mobility and congestion are challenges which every city faces and more of them are turning to technology to provide better, faster and cheaper ways go get around.”

“Integrated information and payment systems in transportation can be a foundation for smart cities and these are two key areas where we can extract important data to help cities and private operators plan their transportation services. This technology is at the heart of NextCity – Cubic’s strategy for regional mobility,” said Matt Cole, executive vice president of Strategy, Business Development and Diversification, Cubic Transportation Systems.

“We also provide big data tools and deep analytics techniques for customer enterprise sources through our 7925 Urban Insights subsidiary, helping transportation operators solve operational issues and bring greater efficiencies and cost savings to their systems.”
