Developers working with 7352 SAP software will be able to leverage innovative location and tracking technology from 7643 Here Technologies (Here) in an agreement between both companies to provide transportation management, advanced tracking and connected parking solutions.

As part of the deal, Here plans to integrate several of its location services into SAP Transportation Management software, enabling enterprises to manage their global and local shipping activities across all transportation modes and industries. It is designed with the intention of providing clients in the transport and logistics industries embedded, intelligent location services to increase productivity and efficiency. The Here Open Location Platform allows optimized fleet routing based on real-time predictive traffic, real tracking and post-trip analysis.

In addition, Here also intends to combine SAP Vehicles Network into its product offering to provide a connected parking solution for automotive, mobility and fleet management clients. These technologies aim to help drivers find and navigate to the closest petrol station or parking spot, authorize payments electronically, activate petrol pumps and open gates.

Leon van de Pas, SVP Internet of Things at Here, said: "Location technology is at the core of a whole new generation of digital services, and that is apparent if you look at HERE and SAP offerings today. There will be more ways than ever before to access HERE's location services through SAP solutions during 2018. We are very pleased to have the trust of SAP, and are looking forward to a fruitful collaboration for the benefit of our customers."
