Swarco Traffic has installed a new parking guidance system at one of Northern Ireland’s premier shopping centres, Abbey Centre, Belfast. A combination of seven variable message signs (VMS) and seven car parking count sensors were commissioned and installed as part of the contract. The technologies combine to alert visitors to where spaces are available, helping to reduce congestion and improve convenience. Volvo Cars’ new on-board infotainment and navigation solution, Sensus Connect, now has an integrated EasyPark Park&Pay solution that allows drivers to find and pay for parking from inside the car.
Drivers of Volvo cars equipped with Sensus Connect are now able to navigate to a parking space, pay the parking fee through an on-board system and receive information or pay for additional parking via the EasyPark smartphone app whilst away from the vehicle.
