A new NFC Phone application developed by Vix is enabling a UK first for Stagecoach bus passengers in Cambridge. The innovative trial, which could lead to a nationwide roll out across select bus and rail services next year, is enabling the small cross section of participating bus users to receive, store and validate their bus tickets using their mobile phone.
Metric Parking, a subsidiary of Hoeft & Wessel Group, has been awarded a contract with the US city of Hoboken, New Jesey, to supply 135 car parking ticket machines. During a successful 10-machine pilot project last year, the city saw a 30 per cent increase in revenue and additional parking spaces. These spaces were created by moving from the traditional single space meters to pay and display. PTV has launched Version 2 of its free truck parking Europe app for iOS 7 and Android, providing truck drivers with a wide range of new functions to help them find suitable truck parking spaces. These new features allow them to find, assess, add and edit information on truck parking facilities even more easily. Drivers can now also enter the occupancy status of HGV parking spaces; the app new includes more than 12,000 truck parking spaces.
