Stalker Traffic Technologies’ (7624 Stalker Radar) Phodar SE-1 photo traffic enforcement radar system has been awarded CE Marking and International Organisation of Legal Metrology certification and has been homologated by the Latvian National Metrology Centre.

The SE-1 monitors up to 32 vehicles moving in either direction across four lanes of traffic from the side of the road (on a utility pole, tripod or inside a stationary vehicle) or above the roadway on a gantry or bridge.

It can be operated remotely via TCP/IP connection and stores violation records internally for review (in evidence browser mode) which can then be copied to any device using its USB port or Ethernet connection or transferred to a dedicated server via Wi-Fi, GSM or FTP.

But since 2005 the reduction in the number of road deaths has been slowing down: overall, the period from 2001 until 2009 saw the number of fatalities decrease by 36 per cent.
