Vitronic fixed speed enforcement

Safe Roads of Belarus, the country’s national road safety authority, has awarded Vitronic Nordic East a contract for 60 PoliScan laser-based speed enforcement units, which use Lidar (light detection and ranging) technology to detect violations. According to Vitronic, the readings obtained are more reliable and fairer to drivers than those from conventional radar systems.

The automated enforcement management system across the whole of Abu Dhabi consists of more than 500 PoliScanspeed spot enforcement systems and 120 PoliScanseco point-to-point enforcement systems, along with software solutions for interconnection of enforcement sites, case processing and asset management.

Vitronic quotes Abu Dhabi’s traffic police in saying its equipment achieved the highest detection rate in field tests covering more than 20 enforcement and violation scenarios across up to six lanes simultaneously.
