In an effort to increase traffic safety in Jordan, 79 Jenoptik’s Traffic Solutions division is to supply a total of 100 traffic enforcement systems to its local partner Traffic Tech Middle East. The order will be carried out in the last quarter of 2016 and Jenoptik will support during installation and commissioning.

Deliveries will include 70 TraffiStar S590 stationary systems for speed measurement and 30 TraffiStar SR520 red-light monitoring systems. In addition, Jenoptik will supply a comprehensive back office solution to be used for incident processing.

Jenoptik’s TraffiStar S590 speed enforcement system uses 3D tracking radar to monitor multiple vehicles travelling simultaneously across different traffic lanes, including close-following vehicles or vehicles driving in parallel.

The TraffiStar SR520 systems uses induction loops to monitor vehicles across up to four traffic lanes, distinguishing accurately between motorcycles, cars and trucks and providing reliable and precise measurements to detect red-light offences.

Both the speed and the red-light systems are equipped with modern Jenoptik SmartCameras which deliver incident pictures at a high resolution.
