IRD wins $2m enforcement deal in Ukraine

Second WiM contract in the country this year covers four sites

International Road Dynamics (IRD) has been awarded a $2m high-speed, virtual Weigh in Motion (WiM) deal for four sites in Ukraine. 

The systems, for Ukrainian road agency Ukravtodor, will cover commercial vehicle enforcement, traffic monitoring, and reporting capabilities via a web-based application. 

It follows a six-site $3.3m contract win, in partnership with local group SEA Electronics, with the Financing of Infrastructure Projects (FinInPro) state enterprise in Ukraine.

IRD CEO Rish Malhotra talked of having "earned the confidence" of Ukravtodor with its earlier work. 

He adds that the data IRD is already generating from WiM installations has "begun to improve road safety and will ultimately help Ukraine meet its infrastructure preservation goals".
