Dubai Traffic Police receives Vitronic award at Intertraffic

Vitronic took advantage of Intertraffic 2016 to present its long term partner Dubai Traffic Police with an award excellence in traffic safety 2016. The Dubai Traffic Police has been was an early adopter of LIDAR traffic enforcement in the MEA region which helped to significantly reduce traffic related fatalities and injuries in the emirate. The Dubai Traffic Police has been was an early adopter of LIDAR traffic enforcement in the MEA region which helped to significantly reduce traffic related fatalities and injuries in the emirate. Last year it installed over 50 new PoliScan systems on main roads in Dubai including the six-lane Sheikh Zayed Road. The systems can enforce dangerous driving behaviour and have recorded over 50,000 violations in one year.

    Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is to install 100 new radar speed-camera stations, twenty-four of which will be activated by Dubai Police in May.
