Ertico: Vantomme will replace Bangsgaard at the top of the organisation

Ertico - ITS Europe is to have a new CEO from the beginning of next year.

A statement from Ertico at the ITS World Congress in Hamburg said that Jacob Bangsgaard will be 'stepping down' on 1 January 2022, after five years in the role.

Joost Vantomme, currently smart mobility director at the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (Acea) will take over then.

Acea represents the 15 major Europe-based car, van, truck and bus manufacturers.

The move represents a changing of the guard in the ITS industry, following the appointment of Laura Chace at ITS America.

Vantomme is already chair of Ertico's Strategy Committee and member of its Supervisory Board as well as a member of the Board of the European Mobility as a Service Alliance.

The appointment was announced by Ertico chairman Dr. Angelos Amditis at the ITS World Congress in Hamburg yesterday.

Vantomme has 30 years’ experience in legal, regulatory, public and strategy affairs across the telecommunications, postal, logistics and automotive sectors.
