ITSWC 2022: tech tours & demos

Caltrans, USDoT's Carma and Aecom & Spoke will all be available for delegates to see

The full technical tour line-up for ITS World Congress 2022 in Los Angeles has been announced.

Delegates will be able to see advanced ITS developments in real-life operations in and around LA:

•    Caltrans Tour of the Los Angeles Regional Transportation Management Center
•    Los Angeles City ATSAC TMC Tour   
•    Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach Tour
•    Anaheim Transportation Network and Disneyland Tour

The Congress will also highlight USDoT's cooperative driving automation (CDA) programme Carma.

The Federal Highway Administration developed this initiative to cultivate further CDA R&D, and delegates will be able to participate in sessions and interactive demos on themes such as: Advancing CDA Research through Simulation, Connected Infrastructure Using CAVe-in-a-Box, Connected Driving Automation and Developing CDA Algorithms using Simulation. 

“We are thrilled the international transportation community will have an opportunity to experience innovations at World Congress that will make our system safer, greener, and smarter for all,” said Laura Chace, ITS America president and CEO.

“Through showcasing efforts like Carma that advance the development of cooperative driving automation and Spoke Safety that protects vulnerable road users, we can transform the future of transportation.” 

There will be live demonstrations outside the West Lobby of the LACC at Gilbert Lindsay Plaza during the exhibit hall days from Monday 19 September to Thursday, 22 September. These include:

•    Aecom & Spoke Safety 
•    Connected Wise 
•    Hexagon
•    Haas Alert
•    Elmo
•    Miovision
•    Ford Motors - located on Figueroa Drive 

In addition, ITS America Events has announced the return of Emergency Response Day, to be held on Tuesday 20 September.
