HumanForest is to deploy 100 electric mopeds in the UK capital next month while also planning to increase its fleet to 200 during 2022.

HumanForest says riders will get five minutes of free riding per day, followed by a charge of 20p per minute thereafter, meaning a 20-minute journey would cost £3.

Users must be aged over 18 years old and have a provisional licence to drive an e-moped, which can travel up to 28 miles per hour.

Each vehicle comes with two helmets and storage compartments that can hold up to 5.6kg to facilitate transportation of small consumer items and business goods.

HumanForest founder Agustin Guilisasti says: “Our e-mopeds will be good for people and businesses looking to move around London in an affordable and sustainable way, helping to reduce air pollution in the city. Our mission to re-forest London is well and truly underway; following the successful launch of our e-bikes, these new vehicles will help people travel faster without releasing any emissions.”

Riders can unlock the e-mopeds via the HumanForest app and dock them in existing parking spaces across London.

Earlier this month, the company started allowing its e-bike riders in London to earn 'TreeCoins', which they can exchange for extra free minutes riding.
