EVware, which offers a hardware and software connectivity platform for micromobility companies, has partnered with mobility safety intelligence specialist Flare.

Vehicles with EVware tech will now be visible on the Flare Aware network, which is designed to act as a pre-warning system, alerting micromobility riders to the presence of other road users, offering "real-time visibility and proactive incident mitigation".

EVware's revenue comes from the sale of hardware units plus an annual subscription for software updates.

Charlie Wilson, Flare chief commercial officer, says EVware's "pioneering HMI [human-machine interface] and connected vehicle offering for micromobility, as well as their commitment to safety, makes this partnership a natural fit, impacting millions of journeys".

Chris Tingley, CEO of EVware, adds that the agreement "reinforces our mission to drive substantial improvements in the capabilities of emerging mobility types".

Flare's platform integrates into customer applications through SDK or API, adding incident detection and customisable response capabilities.

The company says it also provides awareness of micromobility users to drivers "through the world's largest real-time network of vulnerable road users".

EVware says it gives new mobility companies cost-effective, rapid integration of modern digital interfaces and connected services.

Users have real-time access via apps to vehicle and fleet data, and secure APIs through EVware Cloud to facilitate integration with existing software and third-party applications.
