EmpowerWISM 2023: meet the jury

CEOs of Movmi, Veo and Karhoo are among those judging prize for women in mobility

The jury has been announced for the Empower Women in Shared Mobility (EmpowerWISM) 2023 Award, whose objective is to promote one female-led mobility venture for 12 months.  

The six-person panel is headed by Sandra Phillips, founder & CEO of Movmi.

Consultant Sergio Avelleda is former secretary of urban mobility and transport in São Paulo, Brazil, and former global urban mobility director at WRI – World Resources Institute.

Jessica Alba is director of policy & TDM (transport demand management) at Stanford University, a post she has held since 2017. Prior to that, she was a sustainable transportation planner at Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates and Trivector Traffic.

Candice Xie is co-founder & CEO of e-scooter firm Veo. She has worked at Schneider Electric, the Bank of China and MassMutual Financial Group. 

Boris Pilichowski is an expert in mobility, marketplaces & investment management. He worked for Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank before taking over start-up Karhoo and becoming its co-CEO in 2017. 

Aishwarya Raman is executive director at OMI Foundation, a policy research and social innovation think tank. She is a member of the Global Futures Council of the World Economic Forum, an advisor to the Global Partnership for Informal Transportation, member of CII National Committees on Industrial Relations, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Salzburg Global Fellow. 

The EmpowerWISM winner will receive a 12-month mentoring package, access to the entire EmpowerWISM network (partners, judges and Movmi) and will be invited to different opportunities to showcase their work.
