The theme of ITS World Congress 2025, hosted by ITS America and produced by RX in Atlanta, Georgia, will be “Deploying Today, Empowering Tomorrow”.

The theme has been chosen to reflect that the ITS sector is actively deploying technology that aims to build safer roads and a stronger economy for the future. “Our industry is investing in innovation to build stronger, more resilient transportation infrastructure to support the needs of communities," says ITS America president & CEO Laura Chace.

The event - which is held in North America every three years, in a rotation with Asia-Pacific and Europe, Middle East and Africa - runs from 24-28 August at the Georgia World Congress Center.

Ramin Massoumi, Arcadis global solutions director - mobility is the 2025 ITS World Congress board of directors chair and Arcadis will be one of the premier sponsors of the event.

“I believe in the power of technology and innovation to create better outcomes for people as they use our transportation network every day,” explains Massoumi. “Arcadis is proud to join ITS America, ITS America Events, and truly the world as Atlanta takes centre stage in 2025."

Attendees will be able to experience numerous tours and demos which highlight ITS developments.

Metro Atlanta is the site of a world-renowned ITS 'living lab', Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners, which showcases autonomous vehicles, 5G cellular Vehicle to Everything (V2X) technology, smart streetlights and signals, among other technologies.

Georgia Department of Transportation has deployed the largest V2X network in the US, covering 1,200 signalised intersections and is expanding interstate system investments.

“We are looking forward to convening in Atlanta next August and showcasing a region leading in deploying technology to proactively address how we can deliver safer, greener, smarter mobility for all," says Jaime McAuley, ITS America Events event director at RX.

ITS America says the city of Atlanta is investing $168 billion in transportation funding for safer roads and highways, expanding public transportation access and supporting active mobility for pedestrians and biking accessibility.

Russell R. McMurry, commissioner of Georgia DoT, says: “We are proud of our work to reduce our carbon footprint and provide more sustainable transportation solutions."

"We are eager to welcome all the guests who will be attending the World Congress from countries from across the globe. It will allow us to showcase the innovation happening in Georgia while studying new advancements and technologies that can complement our continuous efforts to provide safe, sustainable transportation for all Georgians.”
