These three locations are leading the charge to deploy advanced wireless communications technology in their vehicles and on their roads in regions throughout the nation. The web sites provide information on each area’s unique transportation challenges, plans for connected vehicle deployment, deployment partnerships, promotional materials, and more.
To help the public visualise their research and to recruit participants, each of the pilot sites has also unveiled new videos showcasing their deployments. Wyoming and Tampa have each produced one video profiling their work, and New York City has produced three videos, %$Linker: 2External<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary />000oLinkExternalPart 1falsehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bxu29Qbs-zItruefalse%>, %$Linker: 2External<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary />000oLinkExternalPart 2falsehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xL8vlJ5IcYfalsefalse%> and %$Linker: 2External<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary />000oLinkExternalPart 3falsehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWPn-Tyd3swfalsefalse%>. Moxa unveiled new technologies to improve network reliability for smart transportation applications at the ITS America Annual Meeting and Expo. V-On “Video Always On” is a video stream recovery technology on Moxa’s latest Ethernet switches that provides 50 ms redundancy for multicast video streams when used with Moxa’s Turbo Ring or Turbo Chain. “It can take several seconds for the video stream to resume after a network interruption even if the network itself recovers immediately,” explains Richard Wood, pr
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has released a solicitation for a full and open competition to procure services for non-personal, technical support services for the Connected Vehicle Pilot deployment and program evaluation. The Connected Vehicle Pilot Deployment program includes three phases: Phase 1: Concept Development Phase, Phase 2: Design/Build/Test (for which this solicitation will ascertain that the objectives of the program are met), and Phase 3: Maintain and Operate.
