Trailer tracking technology to be deployed on 6,000 USA Truck trailers

USA Truck has chosen Gemini GLS400 mobile terminals plus cargo sensors from SkyBitz for its trailer tracking technology. 5621 USA Truck has chosen Gemini GLS400 mobile terminals plus cargo sensors from 5622 SkyBitz for its trailer tracking technology. The technology is expected to be installed on more than 6,000 trailers beginning during the first quarter of 2011. This technology is designed to provide managers the ability to view trailer assets in real-time and run customisable management and operational reports for each trailer in their fleet. USA Truck expects to be able to automatically download all of the positioning data into its own truckload management software and fully integrate with SkyBitz.

Cliff Beckham, USA Truck's president and CEO said, "With SkyBitz's trailer tracking technology, we expect better visibility of our fleet and the status of our trailers. We were looking for more real-time data to help us improve customer service and equipment utilization while reducing unnecessary headaches for our drivers. With more precise and real-time metrics on trailers, we should be able to operate with a more efficient trailer-to-tractor ratio than we would otherwise."
