At CeBIT 2012, 2214 Microsoft Germany awarded the Cloud 4 Society prize for the first time to innovative Cloud Computing start-ups and enterprises for the best idea and implementation based on Windows Azure. The software company was looking for innovative business models which used cloud computing as part of the business strategy to extend their processing capacity or to be used as flexible server solution, for example. Start-ups and businesses had the opportunity to apply for five Future Market categories: Education & Research, Health & Environment, eGovernment, eCommerce & Line of Business and Social & Entertainment.

"The Cloud 4 Society Award honours companies which have provided highly innovative cloud-based solutions. With PTV we honour a partner whose advanced Windows Azure-based logistics solution has deserved to win," says Kai Goettmann, director Server, Tools and Cloud Business, Microsoft Deutschland.
