French automotive manufacturer PSA Group and 748 Masternaut have formed a partnership that will see the Masternaut Connect telematics platform become more easily accessible to European Peugeot, Citroën, DS connected cars and light commercial vehicles.

Masternaut’s services will be available for all PSA Group vehicles through the Connect Fleet Management program, using PSA Group telematics technology. Masternaut’s services can also be used in fleets comprised of other automotive brands, using Masternaut’s nonintrusive, patented CANBus telematics technology.

Data from all vehicles is fed back over the air in real-time to the Masternaut Connect online platform. Fleet managers can reduce the total cost of ownership of their fleet through the monitoring of fuel consumption, driver behaviour, emissions or geo-fencing in a consistent and effective way.

    December 5, 2013
Kapsch’s Arno Klamminger and Wolfgang Fleischer consider the need for an agnostic approach to technology for charging and tolling. Periodically, given the march of technology, it is worth pausing and taking stock of where we have got to and where we go next. Such reflections are necessary if we are to take full advantage of what we have at our disposal and, potentially, avoid decisions which push us down technological culs de sac. A look at the use of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-based technol

Inrix’s prediction that the cost of traffic congestion will rise by 63% to £21bn per year by 2030 clearly illustrates that, in addition to the ongoing inconvenience and inefficiency, ongoing gridlock is a significant drain on the economy. It is against this backdrop that a Cisco-led consortium has launched CitySpire, a smart transport programme that uses location-based services a

NXP Semiconductors is setting the pace in truck platooning with full-size commercial vehicles that can run at 80kmph only 11 metres apart, offering up to 11 per cent in fuel savings. The Dutch technology company believes that “there’s no better place than truck platooning to demonstrate the merits of autonomous driving.” Its research team has been working with DAF Trucks to develop leading edge technology that can make driving decisions ‘30 times faster than human reaction time’. NXP says that adapt
  • Mobileye utilises Orange’s IoT connectivity
    September 9, 2019
Mobileye has selected telecoms giant Orange to provide Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity for a solution which it claims will make roads safer. The company, part of Intel, says the Mobileye 8 Connect provides drivers with collision avoidance technology based on their behaviour, environmental data and real-time alert data such as recognising pedestrians in low light. The solution - which sees the road ahead through a camera lens - is expected to offer municipalities and utilities data to plan for smart
