Global navigation and mapping specialist 7430 NNG continues its development automotive and personal navigation devices (PNDs) with the launch of a new PND especially designed for Indian roads.  Launched in partnership with Ayana Navigation Solutions (ANS), the five-inch ANS Navigator A-501 runs on the NNG iGO primo software. The device is pre-loaded with the latest India maps and a total of over seven million points of interest (POIs). To guarantee continued reliable guidance, the unit comes with a one-year map update guarantee from NNG’s update portal %$Linker: 2 External <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?><dictionary /> 0 0 0 oLinkExternal Naviextras.com Naviextras.com false http://naviextras.com/ false false%>.

The ANS Navigator A-501 includes the integrated quick search (IQS) and intuitive navigation features of iGo primo, together with other key features such as: point addressing for more exact destination-finding; natural guidance using the human voice; enhanced junction view with realistic images of junctions; live traffic providing online traffic messages; and historical speed, which looks at past traffic data when calculating the best route based on the day of the week and the time of day.

The company has also partnered with Pioneer Europe on the release of its augmented reality NavGate head-up display (HUD) for smartphone navigation apps. The solution, which is available with NNG’s iGO primo, projects navigation instructions, POIs and road hazards on to the windscreen, enabling the driver to navigate without taking his eyes off the road. NavGate is expected to run in more than nine million cars by 2020.

NNG is launching its IGo primo NavFusion features which connect the user’s smartphone to the car’s on-board navigation and infotainment system.  Navfusion has been confirmed to roll out in the first quarter of 2014.  More information on NavFusion in the September/October issue of ITS International.
