Multi-million dollar fare system upgrade

A consortium led by Prodata Mobility Systems has won a US$147 million contract to equip the buses and the trams of the Belgian transport company Vlaamse Vervoersmaatschappij De Lijn with an onboard computer and validators for the transport company’s new Mobib chip card.

A consortium led by 839 Prodata Mobility Systems has won a US$147 million contract to equip the buses and the trams of the Belgian transport company Vlaamse Vervoersmaatschappij 840 De Lijn with an onboard computer and validators for the transport company’s new Mobib chip card.

The THV Prodata Systems consortium will provide for the installation of the equipment (4,500 onboard computers, 4,500 touchscreens for the drivers, 12,000 contactless validators for passengers and 65 vending machines), development of the accompanying software, and personnel training.
