Rugged computer and tabled supplier Micronet Enertec Technologies has signed a distribution agreement with Germany-based 3264 PTV Group under which it will distribute PTV's truck and fleet specific navigation solution PTV Navigator.

PTV's professional navigation solution, which will be provided on rugged Micronet’s Android tablet A-317 calculates the most efficient route for trucks based on the type of vehicle, including a wide range of attributes such as HGV restrictions, clearance heights, load capacity of bridges and hazardous goods restrictions. Routing avoids residential areas and narrow side roads, pedestrian zones and unsuitable turning manoeuvres.

Based on a sophisticated concept of software tools, PTV Navigator enables drivers to drive smoothly while providing them with information such as speed traps and speed limits via audio and visual alerts. Live traffic information helps to find the best route and to predict the actual time of arrival. The Truck Parking app allows for integration of 20,000 truck parking spaces along European roads, including 27,000 insider tips like industrial areas.

PTV's Navigator provides multiple, easy-to-use interfaces which facilitate communication with other software programs (API), enabling the system to be combined with numerous scheduling applications, allowing users to forward transport jobs directly to the navigation system.
