Driver assisted truck platooning, enabled by V2V communications, offers substantial fuel economy and safety benefits for long haul trucking.  A project started in 2013 under the 831 Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Exploratory Advanced Research program has funded 2006 Auburn University, Peloton, Peterbilt Trucks, Meritor-4319 Wabco, and the 5478 American Transportation Research Institute to investigate technical performance and the practical aspects of integrating this type of system into a modern trucking operation.

This webinar will provide an overview of the project, results to date, and future plans.

    Uber seeks to resume AV trials nearly eight months after Arizona fatality
    Uber wants to resume testing its self-driving cars on public roads nearly eight months after one of its autonomous vehicles (AV) killed a pedestrian in Arizona.     Bike-share and electric scooter company Lime has launched a ‘free-floating’ car-share service in Seattle and intends to make 1,500 vehicles available in early 2019.
