Driver assisted truck platooning, enabled by V2V communications, offers substantial fuel economy and safety benefits for long haul trucking.  A project started in 2013 under the 831 Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Exploratory Advanced Research program has funded 2006 Auburn University, Peloton, Peterbilt Trucks, Meritor-4319 Wabco, and the 5478 American Transportation Research Institute to investigate technical performance and the practical aspects of integrating this type of system into a modern trucking operation.

This webinar will provide an overview of the project, results to date, and future plans.

  • Scania to deploy more than 700 gas buses to Bogotá

    Scania is to deliver 741 Euro 6 gas buses to Bogotá, Colombia, in a deal which is expected to reduce carbon emissions by up 20%. This deployment serves as an extension to an initial order placed by TransMilenio for the procurement of 481 Euro 6 gas buses and is part of the city’s bus rapid transit (BRT) renewal programme.
