Cobra GPS system wins CES award

Cobra Electronics, a manufacturer of GPS navigation systems for professional and recreational drivers, has announced that its 7750 Platinum GPS Navigation series has been won a CES Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Award in the In-Vehicle Navigation/Telematics/ITS product category.

Cobra Electronics, a manufacturer of GPS navigation systems for professional and recreational drivers, has announced that its 7750 Platinum GPS Navigation series has been won a CES Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Award in the In-Vehicle Navigation/Telematics/ITS product category. The device, launched at the 2010 Great American Trucking Show in August, 2010, features enhanced graphics, junction view with lane assist, state mileage log and an hours-of-service Log. It also features last-mile routing and added road coverage on secondary highways.

    A project has been launched to produce city-wide visualisations of air quality through combining EarthSense Systems' (ESS) ordnance survey (OS) geospatial data and real-time air quality data. The technology, a joint venture between Bluesky and University of Leicester, is being used to highlight areas of higher pollution and allows users to identify cleaner air routes such as parks or canal routes.
