BlackBerry to provide tech for Jaguar’s connected vehicles

BlackBerry has extended its agreement with Jaguar Land Rover to provide artificial intelligence and machine learning technology for the automakers connected vehicles.

BlackBerry says it will use its QNX and Cylance solutions to improve vehicle safety in areas such as predictive software maintenance and cybersecurity threat protection.

The company will also provide a cybersecurity consulting service to identify vulnerabilities across the full software library.

Ralf D Speth, CEO of Jaguar, says: “Jaguar Land Rover and BlackBerry share a common objective in bringing the most intelligent vehicles to reality.”

Speth will deliver a keynote address at BlackBerry’s annual security conference in London on 2 October. The event focuses on products and services that address secure communications.
